Book launch signing

Amazing photos from a memorable day

My Weekly Preview were kind enough to send the lovely Tracy Naughton, Photographer, to the Book Launch/Stroke Foundation Fundraiser on Sunday 29th at the Caloundra Power Boat Club. Tracy snapped some of my lovely guests who all had a great time and joined in the fun of the day. The raffle, sale of stroke wrist bands and the Medikidz books raised a whopping $1300 for the National Stroke Foundation, which has now been deposited in their account. I could not have wished for a more wonderful day and thank you to everyone who came along, bought my book and donated their gifts and their money for this organisation.

I have many other photos taken by my lovely friend Jane Robinson, which are on my Facebook page.

Thank you to everyone involved.

One day to go!

One more sleep until the Book Launch and Stroke Foundation Fundraiser tomorrow, and as I am sat in my home study, drinking my morning cuppa from my lovely mug that my friend Lesley bought me, I am going through my speech. I truly feel blessed to have had tremendous support from everyone, not only through my immediate stroke recovery, but from everyone who has helped me get this book to print. I publicly thank Mary Barber and Karen Faa, who have helped me organise this event and I have every confidence that the day will run perfectly.

Over $3,000 of raffle prizes!

My heartfelt thanks go out to all those who have kindly donated gifts for the raffle in aid of the Stroke Foundation and we have over $3000 of prizes!  I certainly could not have made this happen without these contributions and I know that we will raise lots of funds on the day. Check out Patrick showing off all the amazing prizes to be won.Raffle prizes

Raffle tickets are 2 x $5.00 or 5 x $10.00 so please bring low denominations of cash.

We also have Stroke Foundations wrist bands to purchase at $2.00 each which will give you a Lucky Door ticket for more prizes to be won. The Lucky Door prizes have been donated by Suncity Travel (on behalf of Hello World) and my good friend and Next Real Estate agent Kerri Johnston, so there are plenty of prizes to be won.

Josh Goyne, a young man who lost his Grandad to stroke and now cycles to raise funds for the Stroke Foundation, kindly donated the wrist bands and also donated some Superhero ‘Medikidz’ story books written by Doctors to explain stroke to children. I am sure if anyone affected by stroke has children or grandchildren, these books would be worth a gold coin donation.

I have a plentiful supply of ‘A Stroke of Poetry’ books, the cost of which is $20.00.

Jackie Lee, Independent Partylite Consultant, is another example of a generous person who has donated to my raffle and wanted to help raise funds for the National Stroke Foundation. I had not even met Jackie previously, but a number of friends have hosted many Partylite parties and upon hearing of my book launch/fundraiser, she had organised a beautiful lattice lantern, tealights and a gorgeous ‘GloLite’ candle. This is a beautiful prize and is presented well packed, to protect the lantern. If you wish to take a look at what’s inside, come and join us at the event this Sunday afternoon.

More small business raffle donations

I am feeling very blessed at the moment because many of my friends and those I have come to know here on the Sunshine Coast have donated gift packs for the raffle to be held at my Book Launch and Stroke Foundation Fundraiser this coming Sunday.

Earlier this year, I decided that I would run the Caloundra Foreshore 10K..something I have wanted to do since moving to the Sunshine Coast. So, I underwent some rigorous training with Pure Amber Personal Training. Amber and Marcia put me through my paces, literally, and taught me everything I needed to know to be able to run the event. amber gift pack

I did it and I have a lot to thank them for. Amber has kindly donated a Pure Amber gift pack which includes 2 x 1:1 PT sessions, Phillips Rich Bass Running Headphones, a handbag holder from PWA Financial, a keyring, light and notepad.
