My Weekly Preview were kind enough to send the lovely Tracy Naughton, Photographer, to the Book Launch/Stroke Foundation Fundraiser on Sunday 29th at the Caloundra Power Boat Club. Tracy snapped some of my lovely guests who all had a great time and joined in the fun of the day. The raffle, sale of stroke wrist bands and the Medikidz books raised a whopping $1300 for the National Stroke Foundation, which has now been deposited in their account. I could not have wished for a more wonderful day and thank you to everyone who came along, bought my book and donated their gifts and their money for this organisation.
I have many other photos taken by my lovely friend Jane Robinson, which are on my Facebook page.
Thank you to everyone involved.
Caloundra Weekly have published another great article (Pg23 in this week’s edition). This was written by Mary Barber, Freelance Journalist and one of my event organisers for my book launch. Mary interviewed my trainer and good friend, Melinda Bingley, who owns MAB Personal Training and Adventures for the article.
Melinda explained how exercise helped me through my recovery. Mary has also kindly mentioned some of the businesses who have donated raffle prizes.
Here are a few more of the fabulous donations by friends and local businesses….
Colorpop Cosmetics Hair & Makeup Bar is THE one-stop shop for all your hair and make-up needs. The services that Nikki Stacey and her staff provide are second to none..including the full package of hair and make-up for your special wedding day.I have known Nikki now for over 7 years and do not buy my makeup from anywhere else.
They stock the wonderful LUST minerals range which look great and are kind to your skin. Nikki has donated a voucher for brow shaping and a session on makeup application.
Who hasn’t heard of 4ingredients?
Kim McCosker and her fabulous team keep pumping out these easy to understand recipe books for busy mums just like me. Their fame has travelled the Atlantic and they have been engaged in a number of TV shows. 4ingredients have kindly donated their ‘Celebrations Cookbook’ as a raffle prize, which should give the lovely recipient some new ideas for the Christmas festivities ahead.
My beautiful friend Leanne Coleman is also a Norwex consultant and would not use any other product in her home or on her body. Norwex products ‘clean without chemicals’, so are kinder to your body and the environment. Leanne had kindly donated two packs..one personal and one for the home. With each Norwex pack comes full instructions on how to use the products inside.
We also have some fantastic vouchers as raffle prizes…
My good friend and Intimo Consultant Lee-Anne Williams has kindly donated a voucher for the raffle. If you haven’t tried the Intimo range or would like to book an Intimo party, check out Lee-anne’s Facebook page. Ever been to Underwater World? My good friend Krystyna Turnock has donated a family pass which doesn’t expire until April 2016, so there is plenty of time to use it with your children in the holidays. The Caloundra Power Boat Club, in addition to assisting me with the room for the book launch, have kindly donated a meal voucher which can be used anytime.
Jackie Lee, Independent Partylite Consultant, is another example of a generous person who has donated to my raffle and wanted to help raise funds for the National Stroke Foundation. I had not even met Jackie previously, but a number of friends have hosted many Partylite parties and upon hearing of my book launch/fundraiser, she had organised a beautiful lattice lantern, tealights and a gorgeous ‘GloLite’ candle.
This is a beautiful prize and is presented well packed, to protect the lantern. If you wish to take a look at what’s inside, come and join us at the event this Sunday afternoon.
Have you ever been to Homeleigh House on Bulcock Beach in Caloundra? This has to be my favourite shop in Caloundra for gifts, homeware, fashion and general lifestyle presents. Emma Pickens, the owner and her beautiful staff are always on hand to help you choose whatever you are looking for…and generally what I’m not looking for, but just had to buy! I think David worries about his wallet each time he knows I am due a visit. Their range of Glasshouse candles and fragrances are gorgeous.
Emma has kindly donated a Christmas box of Glasshouse range fragrances AND a large Glasshouse ‘Night Before Christmas’ scented candle for our raffle. Be sure to buy your raffle tickets on the day (or before if you cannot attend) to be in with a chance of winning these lovely gifts.
I am feeling very blessed at the moment because many of my friends and those I have come to know here on the Sunshine Coast have donated gift packs for the raffle to be held at my Book Launch and Stroke Foundation Fundraiser this coming Sunday.
Earlier this year, I decided that I would run the Caloundra Foreshore 10K..something I have wanted to do since moving to the Sunshine Coast. So, I underwent some rigorous training with Pure Amber Personal Training. Amber and Marcia put me through my paces, literally, and taught me everything I needed to know to be able to run the event.
I did it and I have a lot to thank them for. Amber has kindly donated a Pure Amber gift pack which includes 2 x 1:1 PT sessions, Phillips Rich Bass Running Headphones, a handbag holder from PWA Financial, a keyring, light and notepad. My gorgeous friend Kylie Flint, in addition to being a busy mum to three grown up children, is a Nutrimetics consultant. I was introduced to Nutrimetics when I first came to Australia and my mother-in-law (almost 80 now) said she used the products when she lived here as a young mum too. Kylie has donated a lovely gift pack with some fabulous products to make you feel special.
Jane Bell, my brilliant beauty consultant who operates her own business in Pelican Waters named ‘Beauty@32’, is also an Avon representative.Avon, similarly to Nutrimetics has been around a number of years and is still going strong. Jane has kindly donated an Avon tote bag filled with lots of Avon goodies.
A few guests have asked me about the order of the day, so here is a reminder of the ‘whats’ and ‘what nots’ for the event. It is only 8 days away so if you haven’t notified me whether you are going, please send me a private message, ‘Like’ the event on Facebook or drop me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you. Shelagh
